The DUPLEX
CABARET THEATRE is a 70 seat off-Broadway venue that
features performances of all types nightly.
From our humble beginnings in the 50's, under the auspicies
of Hal Holbrook, the Duplex's first Booking Manager,
DCT has served as a jewel in the crown of the NYC cabaret
world for over fifty years. Performers such as Barbra
Steisand, Woody Allen, Joanne Worley, Lovelady Powell,
KT Sullivan, Karen Mason and Lea Delaria all are Duplex
alumns. Also in the past, DCT audiences were lucky enough
to catch premiere versions of hits like NUNSENSE, HELLO
MUDDAH! HELLO FADDAH!, and a slew of other new shows.
More recently, DCT has been the venue
of choice for the award-winning
NEW MONDAYS series, featuring new work from composers
both up and coming and legendary, from Frank Wildhorn
to Stephen Schwartz, Charles Strouse to Galt MacDermot,
Jason Robert Brown, Michael John LaChiusa, Andrew Lippa
and many others.
