Mouths of Babes

Mouths of Babes

This tender tomboy and rough-and-tumble lady come together to melt hearts and shake souls with undeniable chemistry and a truly unexpected heralding of wisdom. Mouths of Babes’ sound is equal parts celebration and blues, folk and soul, salve and anthem—an invitation to love this life, to sing your sob story and end it with a smile. These two songwriters light up the stage—juggling harmonies, guitar, bass, foot percussion, cajon, banjo, harmonica, and ukulele from song to song, inviting the audience to join the choir, and engaging listeners with sentiments that range from heartfelt to hilarious.

In her twelve years with popular folk-pop quartet Girlyman, Ty Greenstein established herself as a prolific songwriter and gifted lyricist, a talented multi-instrumentalist, and a magnetic presence onstage. Relix Magazine writes, “The poignant honesty that Ty brings to [her] tunes gives them an emotional intensity that’s as bracing as it is moving,” while the Americana Gazette praises her powerful lyrics: “Tylan’s practice of extending metaphors out toward a precipice keeps an unpredictable edge to [her] songs. Most writers would stop at the easy close. Ty jumps, leaving much to imagination, to powerful effect.”

Over the course of seven years with sultry roots trio Coyote Grace, Ingrid Elizabeth played the upright bass, wrote and sang, commanding audiences with her larger-than-life sassiness and professional dancer’s grace. Curve Magazine claims, “The fiery redheaded bassist…is the unabashed, unapologetic woman who isn’t afraid to yell it all from the rooftops,” and Amy Ray (Indigo Girls) once marveled, “They write such heart wrenching melodies and make such textured harmonies that I find myself enraptured and taken by their timelessness of song.”

The new material from Mouths of Babes finds Ty’s heartfelt songs being lifted up by Ingrid’s infectious irreverence, while Ingrid’s songs dig for a deep taproot of universality a la Ty’s literate leanings. In September 2014 the duo recorded their debut EP, Faith & Fumes, which was released to much fan acclaim in December 2014, and EP Release Tours are being planned through the end of 2015.

Jenn Harris – The Moment You Been Waiting Four

Jenn Harris - The Moment You Been Waiting Four

Jenn likes her Barbies, her version of MTV music videos, and working it ALL out. In her first solo show ever since her bedroom at the age of 7, Jenn uses props and pop music from her past & present to examine whatever and get her through the week…

Critics have called Jenn “Fun to watch”, “Wonderfully droll”, “She puts a quirky spin on both verbal and physical comedy”, “Minimalist’s discipline and unshakeable onstage sangfroid”, “Jenn Harris takes audiences down comedic rabbit holes.”

Jenn’s friends call her:
Randy- “Ugh. Creative, hilarious, ingenious, whacky, astute, absurdist, fierce.”
Matt- “Ballsy, weird, explosive, fun, stupid, childish, brave, crazy, joyful, positive, energetic.”
Jamie (No longer a friend)- “….nice…when you know you are gonna get something free. Kinda dominating, but clean.”

Me: “Dad how would you describe my work? In one word?”
Dad: “Are you talking about the writing stuff or the performance stuff? I don’t know but we are kinda biased. We’ve never seen anything bad unless we are going to go back to college stuff, but even then it wasn’t your fault because it was the writing, but anything we’ve seen you do, you do great, and steal the show and it’s like, Jesus God! It’s nuts. Come on already! We are disappointed in the business. I mean GOD!…Okay, ONE word to describe your work, ahh…I don’t know? Great for us. ‘Great’ I guess? Overachieving. Well, I guess you could take that as bad, but you know. Uh…Underappreciated. You can give that to the casting directors. I mean the business department is disappointing. But it ain’t over. I mean how old is that guy from WHIPLASH? And no one even knew him except for that insurance commercial, and but still, he was old then! I mean how old was Kevin Spacey before he got the movie 7?”
