William Blake

William Blake

William is a Texas native (also an American Idol Season Four Alumnus) and has been performing professionally since the age of 19. In early 2007, he made his move to New York City to continue his musical career. He has performed at such notable NYC venues as the Cafe Carlyle & Bemelman’s Bar, Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, The Cutting Room, The Blue Note, Joe’s Pub, Birdland Jazz Club, Town Hall & Carnegie Hall. He also recorded the MAC-nominated “Live From New York City” at Birdland in 2010 with collaborator and co-producer Michael Thomas Murray for Cavern Records (available on iTunes). In 2012, he and Mr. Murray created the award-winning and critically-acclaimed “Echoes Of Etta: A Tribute to Etta James” which played to sold-out houses all over NYC and surrounding cities. In 2014, William was awarded the New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Male Jazz Vocalist and the Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist. “Echoes” also went on to win the 2014 MAC Award for Show of the Year. In that same year, he performed in the 88th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to a viewing audience of 22.6 million people! He was also heard as the featured vocalist in the Macy’s Holiday Parade in Orlando, Florida. Blake also is an entertainment team member of Atlantis Events and has performed on cruise lines and resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. The LA Times calls him “a shy young Texan with a powerful tenor,” the Huffington Post describes him as “a tonic, a truly unique voice, a wickedly forceful personality,” and the Wall Street Journal raves he is “a blues and soul belter of uncommon skill with his piercing, full-bodied falsetto and dynamic attack.” He is so happy to be one of the newest additions of the Duplex family!
